Choice.

Today at Choice time, Mrs. D. called me over.

“Between Note to a Friend, Writing Workshop, Computers, and Library over half the class chose academic centers,” she said.

We’d opened Gears, Lego’s, and a few other centers, but they just wanted to engage in literacy activities. They crave it. They also know we spend most of our time during centers helping friends with reading and writing. I sat with one friend and she read four books to me. Four. Awesome.

It was a nice way to start the week.

I would choose Legos. That's just me. However, I would probably create words with them. :)

My class is all about the legos. I've been teaching in the same district for 15 years, but switched buildings a few years back. My new room doesn't really have room to set up center areas. I've been using bins, but I'm exhausted from switching centers every week. I'd love to hear how you run centers in your room and what center activities you use that can be visited week after week. I love your posts!!!
